After calculating the carbon footprint and emission reductions, the next step in the work against climate change is to pursue carbon neutral operations by offset.
Green Carbon offers ISO standardised carbon sinks for your company’s use on the way to the carbon neutral operation.
Green Carbon’s carbon sink solution, developed in cooperation with the scientific community and Finnish forest owners, results in measurable natural carbon sinks that remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The method is based on long-term forest research.
The measures taken will produce additional growth in the forest, which will be converted into carbon migitation capacity. Each additional cubic meter of wood added to normal growth binds approximately one ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
As the first domestic option, units that meet ISO standards will be created a limited amount – ensure availability today!
The emissions can alternatively offset with certified emission reduction units VER (Voluntary Emission Reductions) available through us. It is mostly about projects implemented in developing countries that produce verified carbon mitigation units.
The reliability of these is monitored by two international organizations: Gold Standard and VCS (Verified Carbon Standard). We provide the units of both organizations and take care of canceling and assigning the units to the names of our client companies.
All the forest areas of our projects are such that would not have been fertilised without the cooperation of Green Carbon and the landowners.

On the attached map you can find all the carbon sinks implemented with Finnish landowners. The location accuracy of the objects may differ slightly from the actual location.
The information on the map will be updated as the certifications of new destinations have been completed. Latest update 09/2021. A total of 181 sites.
Green Carbon issues a certificate to the company that acquires offset units, as a proof of carbon offset. With the certificate, your company can communicate it’s responsibility and climate measures concretely by showing customers and public what and which year’s emissions have been credited. The certificate is delivered in PDF format. If you wish, your company can also order a suitable certification stamp for the website and a valuable framed certificate.
